Windows 11 Delights Us This Time!

Ana sayfa / News

Microsoft has taken a new step to optimize resource consumption on File Explorer, a cornerstone of the Windows 11 operating system. Introduced with the Windows 11 Build 26220.7523 test version, this system reduces the load on system memory (RAM), particularly during file searching and indexing processes.

In current Windows versions, File Explorer creates an unnecessary loop by scanning the same file or folder groups multiple times during search operations. This strains the processor and increases RAM usage uncontrollably, especially on devices with large storage capacities.

With the new update, the software automatically detects and disables duplicate indexing operations. This allows the operating system to scan data only once, using memory more efficiently.

Microsoft confirms that this technical change speeds up file search results while freeing up more system resources for other applications running in the background. Professional users, especially those working with a large number of files, will noticeably see an increase in the overall system response time when using the search bar.

The software giant has previously introduced a series of improvements to File Explorer, allowing the application to remain ready in the background to increase its opening speed. This latest move, focusing on memory consumption, is seen as part of Windows 11’s comprehensive package of improvements to address performance issues.

This feature, currently in the testing phase, is planned to be rolled out to stable version users via a general Windows update after final checks. Following this update, users will see more stable memory usage graphs for File Explorer in Task Manager.
