The Start menu has been seen changing in the latest beta preview of Windows 11. Microsoft may switch to a categorized view found on iOS and iPadOS. The change to the Start menu will allow apps to be grouped.
Windows 11 Start menu will now look like this
The Start menu in Windows 11 displays all installed apps on the device in an alphabetical list. However, users who installed build 22635.3930 noticed that an alternative has been added to this menu. It turns out that it is possible to group apps by enabling the “Category” view.
Once the menu is activated, the categorized view groups similar apps together under headings like “Productivity,” “Entertainment,” “Games,” etc. This is similar to how the iPhone and iPad organize apps on the home screen.
Microsoft has provided a temporary solution to the problem of the Photos app not opening in Windows 11. Here are the details!
It’s worth noting that it’s not functional in the preview build offered with Windows 11. However, the new menu reveals that Microsoft plans to offer additional ways to organize its app library.
The Start menu currently has two styles to display all the apps. One is a vertical list view and the other is a grid list that shows the latest version of the app. With the categorized view, it will be easier to check the installed programs in Windows 11.
It is unclear when Microsoft will complete and release the new Start menu feature. However, it is important to note that, as with previous Insider previews, development may be pushed back. The new feature will also increase the visibility of applications.
