The title of the article has been changed from “Installing Windows 11 on devices that do not meet minimum system requirements” to “Windows 11 on devices that do not meet minimum system requirements”.
Microsoft recommends that those running Windows 11 on unsupported hardware revert to Windows 10. The company said it does not intend to encourage the installation of Windows 11 on unsupported devices, but to inform users about the possible consequences.
With the support period of Windows 10 approaching, Microsoft is directing users to Windows 11. However, it recommends buying a new PC instead of running Windows 11 on older hardware.
Microsoft is also offering guidance on how systems can be used when Windows 10 support ends. Accordingly, the company aims to maintain tighter control over the hardware ecosystem to optimize the performance and reliability of Windows 11.
It is important to remember that support for Windows 10 will end on October 14, 2025. In this context, it should also be reminded that the beta program has been canceled. The company will provide monthly security updates until the deadline, but will then stop all support, including bug fixes and vulnerabilities.
