Windows 12 will not come! Here’s the reason

Ana sayfa / News

If you think the Windows 12 operating system will be released soon, we have bad news for you. There is no new operating system on the horizon. Microsoft is currently focused on improving the existing one rather than releasing a new one. So, why won’t Windows 12 come?

Firstly, Microsoft is currently obliged to support both Windows 10 and Windows 11. The support period for Windows 10 continues until 2025, which means Microsoft needs to support two different operating systems simultaneously. If Windows 12 were to be released now, they would have to support three different systems.

This would create confusion for users and increase Microsoft’s workload. With the new version of Windows 11, 24H2, Microsoft believes it has solved this problem by significantly updating the existing version instead of releasing Windows 12. This way, everyone stays on the same system, and things progress more smoothly and orderly.

Forget Windows 12! Here is the completely renewed Windows 13

A new Windows 13 concept video attracted great attention on social media. It made a splash with its artificial intelligence features and stylish design.

Secondly, Windows 11 had already caused controversy among some users due to its new system requirements. If Windows 12 were to be released with even higher system requirements, more computers would become unsupported. Imagine, even the computer you just unboxed might not support Windows 12.

This could lead to significant backlash from users. Microsoft is trying to avoid such reactions by adding new features to the existing Windows 11 version. This keeps users happy and spares Microsoft the headaches.

Thirdly, a major operating system release usually comes with a new visual identity and user interface changes. However, there is no indication that Microsoft is planning such a significant change at the moment. While the Windows 11 24H2 update brings major innovations and new features, it does not make significant changes to the user interface.

Therefore, it makes more sense to improve the existing version rather than release a new one. It’s like saying, “Windows 11 already looks pretty good, why make big changes unnecessarily?” Of course, Windows 12 will come someday. However, Microsoft currently does not have sufficient reasons for a new release.

Maybe Microsoft is waiting to introduce a modular version of Windows. This would be an operating system that can more easily adapt to different devices. Such a project could be the perfect opportunity to introduce a new version of Windows. For now, we will have to make do with major updates to Windows 11 instead of Windows 12.

The decision not to release Windows 12 at this time is a strategic one by Microsoft. The reasons behind this decision include not fragmenting the user base, avoiding reactions from new system requirements, and maintaining the existing visual identity. So, do you think Windows 11 is good enough? Which operating system do you think is better? Don’t forget to share your comments with us…
