A new company consisting of famous names from studios such as CD Projekt Red, People Can Fly and Covenant.dev has announced that it has received a $3 million investment. The studio called Dark Passenger will develop a PvPvE stealth-action game set in feudal Japan.
First statement from Dark Passenger
The investment led by The Games Fund and supported by Blite Fund is very important for the studio’s first game. Co-founded by Jakub Ben and Paweł Kuleta, Dark Passenger will collaborate with RealTime Warriors for the artistic work.
Dark Passenger CEO Ben said in his statement, “While our background is based on story-driven single-player RPGs, our heart lies in the dynamism of the multiplayer gaming world.” It is also necessary to remember that the founding names previously led games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher 3.
The founding names, who were on the teams of competitive games such as Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament years ago, said that they wanted to create a multiplayer experience. Inspired by martial arts movies and feudal Japan, the game promises a ninja experience.
Players will have a dynamic movement system with unique moves including rooftop chases, complex fighting systems and wall running, using spears and arrows to create grappling and hovering opportunities.
With the new investment, Dark Passenger plans to increase its team to over 30 employees. Accordingly, it seems to be intriguing with its in-depth story and interesting characters.
