Gal Gadot had gone on press tours for “Heart of Stone” and mentioned that a third film in the Wonder Woman series was in the works within the DC Universe. She even stated that she would be working on it alongside new co-presidents of DC Studios, James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Gadot’s recent statements are not accurate: Wonder Woman 3 is not happening
Earlier this month, Gadot had said the following regarding Wonder Woman 3: “I love playing Wonder Woman. It holds a special and valuable place in my heart. Based on what I’ve heard from James and Peter, we will be filming Wonder Woman 3 together.”
More recently, the actress stated: “I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran. They told me, and I quote: ‘You are in capable hands. We will develop Wonder Woman 3 alongside you. We love you as Wonder Woman – there’s nothing to worry about. Time will reveal this.'”
Multiple sources familiar with the matter have stated that Wonder Woman 3 is not being developed at DC Studios. Another source mentioned that no promises were made to Gadot regarding Wonder Woman 3, and there is no definite discussion about Gadot continuing in the new DC Universe.
The discrepancy between the conflicting statements is unclear. Additionally, Gunn and Safran do not have plans for a Wonder Woman project apart from the Paradise Lost series. There is no information about Gal Gadot’s involvement in this project either.
While these sources have not been confirmed, they have been published in numerous news outlets. However, no spokesperson from the studio has released an official comment detailing Safran and Gunn’s interactions with Gadot.
Another crucial point to consider is that Wonder Woman 1984 received largely negative reviews when it was released at the end of 2020. Its worldwide box office earnings of only $166 million were a significant setback for the studio.
As a result, it is likely that we won’t see Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in the DC universe. What are your thoughts? Please remember to share your opinions in the comments.
