X (Twitter) announces article feature
X is enabling its users to create longer-form content. It’s worth noting that this feature will only be available to Premium Plus subscribers and verified organizational accounts.
Premium users can access the Article composer by selecting “Articles” in the sidebar on the website. From there, they can start composing content using various formatting options, including bold, italic, and strikethrough text, as well as bullet points and numbered lists.
With this new feature, users will have an “Articles” tab on their profiles, and their articles will appear in their followers’ timelines just like regular X posts. Articles will have a unique icon and layout for easy identification.
In a statement regarding the announcement, the company said, “Today, we’re excited to announce Articles, a new way to write and share long-form content with your followers on X. You can also embed images and videos to enhance your storytelling and add visual interest to your Articles. Once published, your Articles will appear in a new Articles tab on your profile and in your followers’ timelines just like regular X posts. With a unique icon and layout, Articles will be easily distinguishable, allowing your long-form content to stand out.”
