Microsoft has been considering bringing some of its Xbox franchises to rival consoles like PlayStation and Nintendo Switch for some time. Finally, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer said that four games will be coming to rival platforms in the first phase.
Xbox games coming to PlayStation 5
Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer confirmed during an interview that four Xbox-PC games will be released on other platforms. The games and platforms were not specified, but reports have leaked the names of these titles.
Sea of Thieves, Grounded, H-Fi Rush and Pentiment are allegedly among the first games coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. But what’s even more intriguing is that bigger franchises are coming to rival platforms.
According to leaks in the gaming press, the company plans to bring Microsoft Flight Simulator, Gears of War and Doom series to PlayStation 5 and Switch. Flight Simulator in particular is thought to be a big win for rival platforms.
Technically the most detailed airplane driving game, it has no competitors on any platform. The flight simulator is also known for being Microsoft’s oldest series with a 40-year history. Released in 2020, the game made a big impact on PC and Xbox.
Details about series like Gears and Doom are unclear. However, Flight Simulator 2024 is thought to be a multi-platform release.
