Microsoft has finally delivered the interface improvements long awaited by PC gamers. Xbox full-screen support, which will be especially welcome for handheld console owners, is now available with the new update.
Offering an Xbox full-screen experience
Technology giant Microsoft continues to enhance its gaming ecosystem on Windows 11. The company has made the Xbox app’s “Compact Mode” feature more functional. Thanks to this new mode, the app now functions like a console interface.
This update is specifically aimed at devices with smaller screens. Owners of handheld consoles like the Asus ROG Ally or Lenovo Legion Go will now find it more comfortable. The new interface significantly simplifies navigation on touchscreens and with controllers.
With the update, the left-hand menu bar is completely hidden, leaving only your game library and content on the screen. This eliminates distractions for players. The interface has gained a sleek look reminiscent of modern console menus.
Microsoft has also improved the “Play Again” feature. Users can instantly access their nine most recently played games. Additionally, controller shortcuts have been added for accessing friends lists and notifications. This way, you can get all the controls without needing a keyboard and mouse.
