Microsoft has added new titles to the Xbox Game Pass library ahead of the Starfield launch in September. Four games are coming to the catalog in the second half of August. Here are the games that will be added/removed from Xbox Game Pass in August.
Xbox Game Pass August games announced
For the first half of this month, Game Pass has been notable for featuring more indie titles. The games included 5 titles including Celeste, A Short Hike, Broforce Forever, Limbo and Airborne Kingdom.
With the announcement from Microsoft, the games that will be added to the console, PC and cloud in the second half of the month have been announced. Game Pass will gain four new titles, offering popular games across genres. Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Sea of Stars stand out.

Leading the announcements is The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which will release on Game Pass on August 18th. The asymmetric multiplayer horror game will launch on August 18 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
Xbox Game Pass August games are listed as follows:
- Firewatch (Cloud, Console and PC) – August 17
- The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (Cloud, Console and PC) – August 18
- Sea of Stars (Cloud, Console and PC) – August 29
- Gris (Cloud, Console and PC) – September 5
Here are the games that will leave the library at the end of this month:
- Black Desert (Cloud and Console)
- Commandos 3 – HD Remaster (Cloud, Console and PC)
- Immortality (Cloud, Console and PC)
- Nuclear Throne (Cloud, Console and PC)
- Surgeon Simulator 2 (Cloud, Console and PC)
- Tinykin (Cloud, Console and PC)
Other highlights include the Remastered version of Quake 2 with new graphics and features announced during QuakeCon 2023. Also, a 10-hour trial of Madden NFL 24 will be available to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers via EA Play.
