Microsoft has sold over 21 million Xbox Series S/X consoles to date!
During a presentation in Brazil, Microsoft disclosed the sales figures for Xbox Series. According to the shared information, Xbox Series S/X consoles have sold over 21 million units so far. The tech giant emphasized that 48% of new users joining the Xbox platform opted for the Xbox Series S. As known, the Series S is priced lower compared to the Series X.
Furthermore, Microsoft also shared that Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X consoles have collectively sold over 79 million units. In this regard, it is possible to say that Xbox One, released towards the end of 2013 and discontinued in 2020, reached a total of 58 million sales throughout its lifespan.
While Microsoft announced its sales figures, Sony stated that as of April 2023, they have sold 38.4 million units of PlayStation 5 within three months. Comparing Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One to PlayStation 5, it can be said that Sony has significantly won the console battle. Recently, Microsoft admitted to losing the console war when they appeared in court to acquire Activision Blizzard.
