Xiaomi’s highly anticipated flagship series, the Xiaomi 16, has attracted attention with its battery capacity. Leaks suggest that despite its compact dimensions, the phone will boast a massive battery, boasting impressive performance and camera features. Expected to be unveiled in China this month, the device could be one of the most competitive flagships of 2025. Here are the details.
Xiaomi 16 Expected Features
The new device, scheduled to be unveiled in the coming weeks, is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. In fact, the Xiaomi 16 series is said to be the first phone series to use this chip.
The most striking rumor about the phone is its battery capacity. It’s claimed to have a 7,000mAh battery, outpacing most premium smartphones today. Charging speeds are also compatible with this battery. This will be increased compared to the previous model, and support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging will be offered.
Xiaomi may also be raising the bar on durability, adding the IP69 water and dust resistance certification typically seen on rugged phones to this slim flagship.
Instead of a major overhaul on the camera front, it appears to have been targeted improvements. The rear camera setup continues to consist of three 50-megapixel lenses: a 50-megapixel Omnivision main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 50-megapixel JN5 telephoto sensor. This setup is similar to the previous model. The phone’s screen size is reportedly a 6.3-inch OLED panel, slightly smaller than the 6.32-inch predecessor.
