Xiaomi is preparing to unveil its new flagship, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, at a major launch event in China next week. While the brand is still being secretive about official details, leaked information today proves the device will be a true “hardware beast.” The massive increase in battery capacity and the technological revolution in the camera department make the 17 Ultra a strong contender for the year’s most ambitious phone.
Battery and Design: Thinner Yet More Powerful!
According to reliable leak source Bald Panda, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will feature a massive 6,800 mAh battery. This represents a significant leap compared to the 6,000 mAh battery of the 15 Ultra released earlier this year.
Charging: The device will come with 100W wired fast charging and wireless charging support.
Dimensions: Surprisingly, despite the larger battery, the device is thinner. The 17 Ultra will be 8 mm thick and weigh 227 grams. (For comparison, the 15 Ultra was 9.4 mm thick).
Colors: Four different color options will be offered: black, white, green, and purple.
The main difference of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is its camera system developed in collaboration with Leica. Breaking new ground, the device will feature a Leica APO certified 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, aiming to completely eliminate chromatic aberration in photos.
- Main Camera: A 50 MP 1-inch OmniVision OV50X sensor specifically designed for mobile devices.
- Secondary Cameras: A 50 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50 MP selfie camera on the front for professional self-portraits.
Saying goodbye to the curved screen era, Xiaomi will use a 6.8-inch flat 2K LTPO panel in the 17 Ultra. This screen will both save energy and offer perfect clarity in sunlight.
Processor: Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
Memory and Storage: 16 GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.1 storage options.
With these features, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is not just a smartphone, but also carries the vision of being a professional camera and a portable power station.
