Xiaomi’s Xiaomi 17 series, expected to be unveiled in China on September 30th, includes models such as the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max. As a continuation of this series, more advanced models like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and 17S Pro are expected to be released in 2026. Recent leaks reveal a key feature and some camera details of the anticipated Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Here are the details.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Comes with Ultra-Wideband Connectivity
A new Xiaomi device with model number 2512BPNDAC has surfaced on China’s radio certification platform. This model is believed to be the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, expected to be launched in 2026. The certification listing indicates that the device will support Ultra-Wideband (UWB) connectivity. This feature could open the door to new usage scenarios, such as seamless interaction with digital keys or smart home devices.
There have also been some leaks regarding the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s camera specifications. Rumors suggest the device will come with a customized 50-megapixel 1-inch main camera, a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering 3x to 5x continuous optical zoom.
On the processor front, the device is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, similar to the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Pro series. However, the brand is also said to be working on the next-generation Xring O2 chip. Therefore, which chip the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will use remains unclear at this time.
Xiaomi’s flagship phones are typically released in China in February. Given that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra was announced in February 2025, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to hit the Chinese market in February 2026. The global and Indian versions of the device have also reportedly been spotted in the IMEI database, but it is not yet clear whether it will be available in the Indian market.
