Xiaomi has added a new device to its product range in the field of imaging technologies. The projector, announced as Laser Projector 3, draws attention with its built-in gimbal structure, high brightness value and advanced image processing features. The device, which offers 4K resolution support, will be on sale in China for 4399 yuan, or approximately $613, as of July 10.
Xiaomi introduces its new 4K laser projector
Laser Projector 3 uses a 0.47-inch DMD chip high-transmittance lens that provides native 4K resolution. It can project a maximum image size of 120 inches. The device, which works with a pure three-color laser light source, reaches a brightness value of 1000 CVIA lumens.
It covers 110 percent of the BT.2020 color gamut in color accuracy. It supports HDR10 and HDR10+. In addition, the MEMC-supported motion smoothing feature ensures fluidity in image transitions. The contrast ratio is stated as 1600:1.
The projector includes a built-in gimbal with a projection angle that can be adjusted up to 130 degrees. The device also includes an 8×8 multi-point ToF laser sensing module and a high-resolution camera.
This system performs automatic keystone correction and autofocus operations with AI-supported algorithms. The resulting image is optimized according to ambient light and surface structure. Automatic wall calibration is also activated in this process.
The internal hardware includes 3 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage and a MediaTek MT9667 processor. On the software side, it works compatible with Xiaomi’s HyperOS Connect system. XiaoAi assistant is supported for voice commands. Fast screen mirroring feature is also integrated with NFC.
On the screen side, the device supports 120 Hz refresh rate and 4K resolution video playback. It reduces motion blur and increases clarity thanks to image processing technologies called EMC and Ex ULE. These features make the device suitable for both movie watching and gaming experiences.
The sound system includes two 8W speakers and four passive diaphragms. Dolby Audio support is offered and sound output suitable for digital Hi-Fi settings is provided. Connection options include HDMI 2.1 (eARC supported), 3.5 mm headphone output and USB ports. HDMI input allows 4K 120Hz image transfer.
Xiaomi Laser Projector 3 is positioned among the middle-upper segment projectors with its technical features and price. No official statement has been made on whether the device, which is planned to be released in the Chinese market, will be offered to the global market in the future.
