Today, Xiaomi made headlines at its major event not only with new smartphones and wearable products but also with a breathtaking car announcement. The star of the event was undoubtedly the race-focused, all-electric Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prototype.

Aiming to break the lap record at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife track in October, the vehicle has generated immense excitement among car enthusiasts. The SU7 Ultra boasts an incredible power with its two HyperEngine V8s electric motors, producing a jaw-dropping 1548 horsepower, turning the vehicle into a virtual rocket.

The SU7 Ultra can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.97 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km/h in just 15 seconds. Its maximum speed is reported to be 350 km/h. Despite its lightweight carbon fiber exterior panels, the vehicle weighs just 1,900 kg.

Despite this lightweight construction, the SU7 Ultra can generate up to 2,145 kg of downforce and has a 1,330 kW battery output. The SU7 Ultra stands out with its aggressive design, featuring a massive carbon fiber rear wing and a more aerodynamic structure compared to the standard SU7.

Experts believe that these features might be enough for the vehicle to set a record in the four-door electric sedan class at Nürburgring. A video was also shared today showing Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun with the company’s developed Xiaomi SU7 electric car.

Currently available only in China, the SU7 stands out with its various battery and motor options. These include the standard version with a 73.6 kWh BYD Blade battery and 299 horsepower, the Pro version with a 94.3 kWh CATL Shenxing battery, and the Max version with a 101 kWh CATL Qilin battery and 673 horsepower. The performance of Xiaomi’s SU7 Ultra prototype at Nürburgring and whether it will open a new chapter in the electric vehicle world is eagerly awaited.
