Xiaomi announced that it has fixed the NFC issue that emerged after the HyperOS 2.3 update, particularly affecting the Xiaomi 15 series. Following the update, some users reported connection issues with contactless payment services like Google Pay. Following complaints, the company determined the issue was software-related and has released a fix.
Xiaomi Fixes NFC Bug in HyperOS 2.3 Update
Xiaomi noted that it may take time for the new update to reach all devices and has shared a temporary workaround that users can implement in the meantime. So, how can you fix it?
A suggested workaround is to go to “More connection options > NFC” in the Settings menu, set the default payment app to Google Pay or another preferred app instead of SIM Wallet, and then turn NFC off and back on.
According to user experiences, this method resolved the issue on most devices. The error will likely be permanently resolved once the update reaches all devices. While Xiaomi apologized to its users for this technical glitch in HyperOS 2.3, it announced that its software team continues to work to prevent similar problems from occurring again.
