Xiaomi wants to break its silence in the foldable smartphone market with the Mix Fold 3. A poster shared by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun revealed the launch date of the device. This post also reveals how the Mix Fold 3 will look like. The Chinese manufacturer promises to offer great innovations in the interior and exterior display.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 will be introduced on August 14
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 will be introduced at a launch event in China. On August 14, the foldable phone will be officially unveiled within the scope of the launch.
The Mix Fold 3 is expected to have thinner bezels and more easily foldable edges. As usual, the device will feature a horizontally foldable display and, according to Lei Jun, will come with a brand new hinge design. This design will address concerns about the durability of foldable phones.
On the camera front, the Mix Fold 3 will feature a quad rear setup developed in collaboration with Leica. The quad camera setup allegedly includes a Sony IMX800 sensor, an ultra-wide lens, a telephoto lens with 3.2x optical zoom and a periscope telephoto lens with 5x zoom.
Xiaomi claims it will offer the most advanced mobile photography experience ever. In addition, the cover screen is expected to be larger for more comfortable one-handed use.
While the Mix Fold 3 promises to push the boundaries, initial launch plans seem limited to China. Xiaomi’s emerging foldable display devices have yet to expand to global markets.
