Software support for smartphones is crucial as it allows you to keep your device up-to-date and secure. However, over time, certain models are inevitably phased out due to their inability to support new software versions from a hardware perspective. So, how does Xiaomi fare when it comes to software updates? Here are the Xiaomi models that have lost update support.
Xiaomi Models That Have Lost Update Support
Xiaomi typically provides software support for its smartphones for around three years. These models are listed under the “End of Life” (EOL) section on the official website, which Xiaomi periodically updates with models that can no longer support new versions due to hardware limitations.
Devices added to Xiaomi’s EOL list will no longer receive MIUI, Android, or security updates. However, Xiaomi doesn’t close the door entirely, as critical security patches may still be released if severe vulnerabilities are discovered, even for unsupported models.
