Xiaomi’s highly anticipated flagship phone series, the Xiaomi 17, is set to be unveiled in China later this month. A newly released poster suggests that the company’s new flagship tablet series, the Xiaomi Pad 8, may also be announced at the event. Ahead of the launch, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro has allegedly appeared in Geekbench testing. Here are the details.
Xiaomi Pad 8 Design and Features
The released promotional poster reveals that the new tablet will have very thin bezels around its 11.2-inch display. Just like last year’s Pad 7 series, both the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro are expected to come with the same screen size.
The tablet series will run Android based on Xiaomi’s latest operating system, HyperOS 3, out of the box. The poster confirms that the device will also support accessories such as a keyboard and stylus, but other specifications have not yet been released.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, reportedly with model number 25091RP04C, has been listed on the Geekbench database. The listing indicates that the Pro model is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 16GB of RAM, and Android 16. The device notably scored 2831 in the single-core test and 9260 in the multi-core test.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 series is rumored to be unveiled in China on October 26th. This series will consist of several models, including the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. It has been officially confirmed that the Pro models will feature a large secondary display on the back. These three models will be the world’s first phones to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
