Xiaomi, Redmi Models Not Receiving Updates – September 2024

While Google is still working on the full release of Android 15, the recently announced Pixel 9 series was introduced with Android 14. The upcoming OS update is expected to bring many new features. Even though updates continue to be released, support for devices that are no longer promised updates is ending. Xiaomi has also cut update support for some of its models this month. Here are the Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO models that will lose update support as of September 2024:

For Android phones, the standard has been two years of OS updates and four years of security updates. However, with new devices and agreements, this period has been extended up to seven years. In some cases, updates continue for critical security vulnerabilities even after these periods end. Xiaomi regularly publishes an EOL (End of Life) list for its Redmi, POCO, and Mi devices, keeping the list updated to inform users.

Devices on this EOL list are now considered out of Xiaomi’s update support. Phones and tablets that will no longer receive MIUI, HyperOS, Android, or security updates as of September 2024 include:
