While Xiaomi has already begun rolling out the HyperOS 3.0.17.0 update for its new flagship, the Xiaomi 17 series, it has also taken a significant step forward for its Redmi models. The Redmi Pad 2 Pro and Redmi 13 have received a new software patch, version number HyperOS 2.0.202.0. Here are the details.
Xiaomi Releases HyperOS 2 Update for Two Redmi Models
While this update isn’t the latest HyperOS 3, it’s likely an interim package that brings performance optimizations and system stability improvements to both devices. According to Xiaomi’s official HyperOS 3 roadmap, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro and Redmi 13 are among the second wave of devices that will receive this major Android 16-based update between November and December 2025.
This suggests that the released HyperOS 2.0.202.0 update may be the last HyperOS 2 package for the brand before it upgrades these devices to the next major version.
The Redmi Pad 2 Pro entered the global market last month with a 2.5K resolution 120Hz display, Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, and a massive 12,000mAh battery. The Redmi 13 was introduced in India in July as a promising option in the budget segment, boasting a 6.79-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE processor, and a 108MP main camera.
This interim update will help users enjoy a smoother and more seamless experience as their devices prepare for HyperOS 3. If you haven’t received the update yet, you can check it in your phone’s Settings > Software Update menu.
