Xiaomi will come out with its own processor!

Ana sayfa / News

Xiaomi has taken a critical step towards full independence in the mobile processor space. The company is establishing a dedicated chip development team for a next-generation mobile processor based on the 3nm manufacturing process. The team, headed by former Qualcomm executive Qin Muyun, will report directly to CEO Lei Jun and will be responsible for the development of the new chipset.

Xiaomi’s processor development process began in 2017 with the Pengpai S1 model produced on the 28nm process. In the years following this initiative, the company has developed many special-purpose chips. However, the new initiative goes beyond this area; it is the company’s first focus on a full-fledged, flagship-level system chip.

Recent reports have revealed that Xiaomi’s new processor will offer an eight-core structure. This structure will include one Cortex X925 main core operating at 3.2GHz, three 2.6GHz Cortex A725 and four 2.0GHz Cortex A520 cores.

Subscribers upset: Xbox Game Pass 6 games missing

It is stated that Xbox Game Pass will bid farewell to a total of 6 games on April 15. So which games will be leaving the platform?

This configuration indicates an architecture similar to MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chip. Although the product is comparable to flagship processors in terms of performance, it is thought to be a few steps behind in terms of general system architecture.

On the graphics processor side, it was reported that the Imagination IMG DXT72 GPU running at 1.3 GHz will be used. This graphics unit will be capable of providing performance equal to or higher than the Adreno 740 GPU in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.

The release date of the new processor has not been finalized yet, but the project has strengthened the possibility of Xiaomi using its own chips in future devices. So what do you think about this? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
