Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition combines the real and the virtual world
The device is an AR product, which means that this product combines the real and the virtual. Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition allows you to place virtual objects in your environment. The product, which has multiple camera screens, also can detect the environment and perform hand tracking. Thanks to hand tracking, virtual objects, such as a screen window, can be resized with hand gestures. It is also possible to scroll the opened browser with hand gestures. With this feature, supported products in the environment, such as lamps, can be turned on and off remotely with hand gestures.
Glass Discovery Edition is paired with smartphones via NFC and works by connecting wirelessly with these phones with a delay of 50 ms. A WiFi and Bluetooth-based technology developed by Xiaomi is used here. Xiaomi’s Glass Discovery Edition is built on a body made of magnesium and carbon fiber. So, the product has a very strong and as light as possible (128 grams) body.
Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass features micro OLED displays with a brightness of 1,200 nits. With its transparent electrochromic lenses, the AR glasses offer a blend between the real and the virtual. Unfortunately, it is not yet known when or for how much the product will be sold.
Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition, a future prototype for now, is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 processor. According to the statement, the AR glasses model is based on the company’s self-developed silicon-oxygen anode battery.
