Xiaomi will produce 150k EV a year in this factory

Located in an industrial park in Beijing, China’s capital city, the factory is expanding over an area of 720,000 square meters after the completion of its first phase. The footage shows the construction of six main workshops for battery, assembly, paint, body, die-casting and stamping functions.

In addition to the production facilities, the site also includes a vehicle test track, laboratories and office buildings. The first phase has an annual production capacity of 150,000 units.

Xiaomi started construction of the factory in April last year and completed the first phase last June. We know that the factory has been running prototype work in production for several months. Reports indicate that preparations for mass production are underway with 50 vehicles being assembled per week.
