Xiaomi’s Xring O1 processor failed to meet expectations!

Ana sayfa / News

Xiaomi recently introduced its first smartphone processor, the Xring O1, which it developed in-house. During the introduction, the company shared an image showing that the new chipset received over 3 million points in the AnTuTu test. However, independent test results revealed that the processor did not reach the announced performance data.

In a test conducted by a Chinese user on the Xiaomi 15S Pro model, the Xring O1 chip received 2.61 million points. This result is approximately 13% below the score officially announced by Xiaomi. The score obtained showed that the Xring O1 fell behind rival chipsets such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400.

One of the main reasons for the performance difference is considered to be the difference in test conditions. It is estimated that the score shared by Xiaomi in the announcement was obtained in a controlled environment and under ideal cooling conditions.

In real-life usage scenarios, factors such as environmental temperature and the thermal design of the device directly affect the performance of the chipset. The Xring O1 is based on ARM’s reference designs.

The processor has a total of 10 cores: 2 Cortex-X925 cores running at 3.9 GHz, 6 Cortex-A725 performance cores running between 1.9 and 3.4 GHz, and 2 Cortex-A520 efficiency cores running at 1.8 GHz.

The Xring O1, like its competitors, is produced using TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing process. However, the Snapdragon 8 Elite uses Qualcomm’s own Oryon cores instead of ARM designs. The Dimensity 9400, like the Xring O1, prefers ARM’s standard designs. These differences can cause performance differences between processors.
