Xpeng P7+ EREV Design Revealed

Ana sayfa / News

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng is preparing to launch the range-extended electric (EREV) version of its P7+ model in 2026 as part of its strategy to expand its product range.

Recently leaked images clearly reveal design details that differentiate the vehicle from its fully electric predecessor and offer the first hints of a hybrid engine configuration. The refreshed sedan is positioned as the newest representative of the brand’s internal combustion engine-assisted electric vehicle initiative, which began with the X9 and G7 models.

The most striking design innovation is the addition of active air intakes to meet the cooling needs of the 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender engine located at the front. The redesigned lower bumper continues the aesthetic touches at the rear.

The new taillight cluster, which extends across the entire width and features the Xpeng logo in the center, uses blue lighting details to make the driver and those around them aware that the driving assistance systems are active. Furthermore, while the spoiler structure on the rear window is retained, the “P7+ power ultra” inscription on the tailgate confirms the vehicle’s place in the model family.

Looking at the technical specifications, the P7+ EREV’s 1.5T engine, producing 147 horsepower, acts as a generator, while the electric motor powering the wheels offers a capacity of 180 kW (241 hp). The 49.2 kWh LFP battery pack allows the vehicle to travel 325 kilometers on electric power alone, according to CLTC standards.

With a measured maximum speed of 200 km/h, the vehicle’s total range is expected to reach 1400 kilometers with the support of the gasoline generator. The model is also impressive in terms of charging speed, reaching 80% charge in 12 minutes, one of the fastest charging times in the industry.

Raising the bar in artificial intelligence and driving safety technologies, Xpeng incorporates three custom-made Turing chips in this model. This system, which reaches a high processing power of 2250 TOPS in total, enables the vehicle to process environmental data much faster and offer advanced autonomous driving features. With this strategic move, the company plans to reach a wider user base by eliminating range anxiety in markets where the electric vehicle transition is progressing slowly.
