Microsoft Teams and Zoom services, one of the most preferred services for remote working and online meetings, have been strengthened with useful innovations today. Within the scope of today’s update, Microsoft Teams has been significantly renewed. As a result, it has become much faster and modern. Also, 3D Avatar for Teams is now publicly available.

3D Avatars for Teams was first announced in 2021

According to the statement, the new version uses 50 percent less system resources and runs twice as fast. In addition, the service is now more visually harmonized with Windows 11. It also opens the 3D Avatar system to everyone. Microsoft now allows Teams users to create and use a 3D avatar in meetings instead of being in front of the camera.

First announced in 2021, 3D avatars have been tested over the past year. They are now fully available to everyone. You don’t need to have a camera to use the 3D Avatar feature. You can control your avatar from the Teams reaction buttons. Your avatar will animate the reaction you choose.

This way, you can visually show that you are there even if you don’t have a camera or when you don’t want to open it. Microsoft is kicking off the public preview today and aims to roll these avatars out broadly in May. You can watch how the avatars work in the video below.

Zoom, one of the important services, was also on the agenda today. Zoom, the Microsoft Teams competitor with an artificial intelligence update, helps people with an assistant named “Zoom IQ”. The best part of this infrastructure is that it can summarize the meetings you are late to attend. The meeting is analyzed and the main points you missed are summarized. While this seems really useful, the “Zoom IQ” system can also automatically generate answers and texts for you using artificial intelligence.
