Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar Games’ most popular title after the GTA series, is back on the agenda with a new announcement. According to a statement from the company, the first Red Dead Redemption, released in 2010, will now be playable on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
Nintendo Switch and PS4 gets Red Dead Redemption
Rockstar Games has announced that Red Dead Redemption will expand to new consoles. Accordingly, the open-world western game will now be playable for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Some gamers were disappointed that it wasn’t available for Windows PC.
Developed in 2010 by Rockstar San Diego, the action-adventure game was originally released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. However, the PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions were prepared by UK-based studio Double Eleven.
The PS4 and Switch versions aim to bring the game to the masses who didn’t play the 2010 version. According to Rockstar, the new version will include the original game as well as the zombie-themed DLC pack Undead Nightmare.
However, Rockstar doesn’t seem to have made major overhauls in the new productions. They’re described as “new conversions” rather than major remasters or remakes. So if you played RDR on PS3 or Xbox 360, we advise you not to expect a huge innovation.
On the other hand, it is noteworthy that Windows and Xbox One are not included among the new versions. PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions will be available from August 17th.
