Google continues to work constantly on the Android system. While we usually think of it for phones and tablets, Android operating systems can also be used easily in vehicles through Android Auto. With the new update released, Google Maps now allows users to report accidents and roadworks directly through Android Auto. Here are the details…
Accident Update for Google Maps on Android Auto
We all check maps for accidents or traffic before or during our trips. Previously, we had to check this on our phones, but with the new update for Google Maps on Android Auto, you can now manage all of this from your vehicle.
In recent months, Google Maps has added a radar feature, and now it also allows notifications for accidents, roadwork, lane closures, and more. While users could previously send or check these notifications from their phones, this new update adds a significant convenience for drivers using Android Auto.
According to Reddit users, the update is currently available for users in the United States, allowing them to send notifications through the Google Maps app on their Android-equipped vehicles. This feature, released earlier this year for Apple CarPlay, is now finally available for Android users.
When you tap the yellow triangle warning sign that appears on the left side of the screen, you can choose options such as accident, slowdown, road work, lane closure, or broken vehicle from the “Add Notification” section. By reporting from here, you can avoid distractions on your phone and keep your eyes on the road.
So, when do you think this feature will be available in our country? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
