At the Ignite event organized by Microsoft, the company’s new products were discussed. Microsoft, which makes significant investments in cloud technologies, has developed an interesting application in this regard. You can now turn any device, including iPhone and iPad, into a Windows device via the cloud.
Windows app released for iPhone and iPad
Thanks to the “Windows” app that will be available in the App Store, you will be able to access your computer whenever you want. The app essentially gives users access to Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows and Windows 365 cloud computing.
The Windows app is currently available for preview on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Windows and web. As a first experience, it is possible to connect to and control cloud and physical computers. The app allows you to transfer the Windows environment to iPhone and access it from the smartphone.
Key features of the Windows app include support for multiple monitors, custom screen resolutions and scaling. There’s also device routing support for webcams, storage devices and printers. This means you can manage devices connected to Windows directly from iPhone.
The app currently requires a Microsoft business account, but will soon be available for individual accounts. It’s also worth noting that it’s a free app.
The release of the Windows app for iPhones also shows Microsoft’s willingness to move its operating system to the cloud. The move follows the company’s creation of a new “Windows and Web” team focused on cloud-powered Windows features.
