Samsung announced its innovations aimed at making home appliances smarter at IFA 2024 in Berlin. The “Samsung Smart Forward” update is designed to enhance user interaction with home devices and will be rolled out to select Samsung products in the coming months.
Samsung continues its innovative ideas
Miyoung Yoo, Vice President of the Digital Appliances Software Development Team at Samsung, stated that these updates have been developed after years of R&D efforts. The new features not only improve the user experience but also strengthen security measures.
The innovations introduced by the South Korean tech giant include a wide range of products, even covering Family Hub refrigerators with screens produced since 2017.
One of the most notable features is “Fridge Call,” which allows users to make phone calls directly from their refrigerator. Family Hub users will be able to use the refrigerator’s screen and built-in speaker to make hands-free phone calls.
This feature is especially convenient for those who are cooking or busy with household chores. Additionally, with the “Buds Auto Switch” feature, users of Galaxy Buds can seamlessly switch between their fridge and mobile devices.
Samsung is also updating AI-powered washing machines and other home appliances. The new “Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo” model learns user habits to suggest the best program, saving both time and energy.
