You won’t need to pay for these apps with iOS 18!

Ana sayfa / iOS

Apple is preparing to disable popular third-party apps and services with the recently announced iOS 18. By embedding functionality directly into iOS, Apple will prevent you from paying for apps.

Password managers like LastPass and 1Password have been used to store login credentials for many years. But iOS 18 will include a password manager with the Passwords app built right into the operating system.

The service will store passwords in the browser and apps, and will also support sharing with other users and auto-filling passwords.

Another app that will take a big hit with iOS 18 is Grammarly. The app used to check spelling and grammar will face competition from Apple Intelligence. Apple will analyze texts across the operating system and offer corrections and new writing suggestions, similar to Grammarly.

On the other hand, the voice transcription service Otter AI was an important app for preparing transcripts. However, the Notes in iOS 18 will directly record, transcribe and summarize audio recordings. This threatens Otter’s subscription model.

In addition, ChatGPT-4o will now integrate with Siri. Thanks to the OpenAI partnership, Siri will gain speech capabilities similar to the ChatGPT app. This means that some paid support will be available for free with Siri.
