Ana sayfa / News

YouTube has taken a new step regarding the increasing use of artificial intelligence technologies to create fake content. The platform has officially announced that it will remove such content upon user complaints. Any ‘deepfake’ video uploaded to the platform will be removed within 48 hours of a complaint, and the uploading channel may face penalties.

YouTube has made this decision in response to the rapid advancement of deepfake technology and the proliferation of fake videos, especially those depicting celebrities and politicians. Complaints are promptly evaluated, and videos identified as generated using artificial intelligence will be taken down.

Furthermore, if a user uploads a ‘deepfake’ video, they are required to disclose this to both YouTube and in the video’s description. Failure to do so will result in the video being swiftly removed.

YouTube’s decision is seen as a significant step against the increasing spread of misinformation and disinformation on digital platforms. However, the effectiveness of such measures remains a topic of debate given the rapid development of AI technologies.

In essence, this new policy aims to ensure users have access to reliable content and prevent the spread of fake content on the platform. This development is viewed as an important step for other social media platforms to consider similar measures.
