YouTube is one of the most used services of Google. It is also a popular video streaming service. The company is updating the platform with new changes and features. While YouTube starts rolling out a redesign for the platform, it is also releasing new features along with the new redesign. Now, the platform brings a change that separates the Shorts from Videos tab. Here are the details.
YouTube Shorts is not in the Videos tab anymore
The popular video streaming platform made a lot of changes in October, and it keeps bringing other changes. There is a new YouTube Homepage, and more in the October update. While the brand launched the Shorts feature in 2020, it is still improving the feature to give a better experience. According to the announcements, YouTube is now separating Shorts from the Videos tab. Additionally, the platform also brings a Live tab which means there will be three tabs on the channels.
While YouTube is rolling out the new changes today, it has not been released to all devices. The brand announced that it will be fully available “across all devices” in the coming weeks. You will find three separate tabs for Videos, Livestreams, and Shorts with the new changes. The streaming platform aims to give a better experience to users.
YouTube announced in the blog, “We’ve heard that this will make it easier for viewers to discover the kinds of content they’re most interested in when exploring a creator’s channel page, so we’re excited to bring this to you all!”
Here are the new tabs:
- Shorts tab: Here you’ll only see Shorts. When you are watching Shorts in the Shorts feed and navigate to a creator’s channel from the feed, you will be directed right to this new tab to keep enjoying Shorts
- Live tab: You’ll find all streams in this tab, including any that are currently active, scheduled, or archived
- Videos tab: This will continue to house long-form content
