In 2019, the streaming platform added channels from Discovery like HGTV, Food Network, and Animal Planet, it also added select channels in 2020. With these additions, YouTube TV has become more popular but increased subscription prices. The price raised to $50 from $40 a month in 2019, then it jumped to $64.99 a year later. Now, YouTube TV announced the new subscription prices for 2023. With the latest hike, it became closer to cable TV subscriptions.
The company raised the subscription price to $72.99 a month. However, it has a limited-time offer, which is $62.99 first 3 months, and $72.99 thereafter. You can also try it for free for 2 weeks. When you purchase the tier, you can use it for up to 6 household accounts. Memberships offer national and local networks, YouTube’s special collection of on-demand movies and shows, and more. Additionally, you will have access to unlimited cloud DVR storage space.
YouTube TV says on Twitter, “An update for our members. As content costs have risen, and we continue to invest in our quality of service, we’ll be adjusting our monthly cost, after 3 years, from $64.99/mo to $72.99/mo, in order to bring you the best possible TV service. New members will see this new price today, while existing members will see this pricing change beginning 4/18. Additionally, we are lowering the price of our 4K Plus add-on from $19.99/mo to $9.99/mo.”
How to cancel your YouTube TV membership
- Open the YouTube TV app on your Android device, or go to tv.youtube.com on a web browser.
- Select your profile photo.
- Go to Settings
Membership - Click Manage.
- Click Cancel membership

- Select your profile photo.
- Go to Settings
Membership - Use the slider to choose how many weeks you would like to pause your membership.
