ChatGPT is taken internet by storm. This highly successful chatbot can not only write articles better than most people, but it can also provide high-level answers to exam questions. Recently, however, ChatGPT has been a topic of debate regarding personal information protection and its use for illegal activities.
ChatGPT generates working Windows 95 license key
Many people have started using ChatGPT’s impressive abilities for various purposes. Even though OpenAI claims to have taken numerous precautions against illegal use of ChatGPT, these measures sometimes seem insufficient.
Recently, a YouTuber managed to trick ChatGPT into generating a working product key to activate Windows 95. Initially, ChatGPT stated that it couldn’t generate a license key, but the user, Enderman, found a way to deceive it.
Enderman asked ChatGPT to create a sequence in the “XXXYY-OEM-NNNNNNN-ZZZZZ” format, instead of directly generating a license key. Enderman set the “XXX” part to a number between 0 and 366, and requested the last two digits of a number between 95 and 103 for the “YY” part.
For the “NNNNNNN” section, Enderman required it to start with two zeros and the remaining numbers’ sum to be exactly divisible by 7. Lastly, there were no specific conditions for the “ZZZZZ” part, so Enderman asked ChatGPT to generate it.
Using this input, ChatGPT created 30 different licenses. Out of these 30 product keys, one successfully activated Windows 95. The YouTuber attributed the failure of the other keys to the chatbot’s inadequacy in addition and division.
