Zoom has entered the word processing market by further expanding its platform known as a video conferencing application. According to the announcement made yesterday on its official blog, the new tool, Zoom Docs, is equipped with AI Companion to improve the efficiency of meetings and is available to both free and paid subscribers. Let’s examine all the details about Zoom Docs.
What will be the features and uses of Zoom Docs?
Zoom Docs is available for free and paid subscribers at no additional cost. Free users can create 10 shared documents and unlimited personal documents without AI Companion. Paid Zoom Workplace plans provide access to AI Companion without any shared document limitations. This new tool allows users to tag colleagues in documents with the option to add comments, and allows them to add images, tables, and bullet blocks to their documents.
“Zoom Docs is our first Zoom Workplace product with built-in AI, seamlessly transforming information from Zoom Meetings into actionable documents and knowledge bases, enabling teams to focus on meaningful work,” said Smita Hashim, Zoom’s Chief Product Officer. Zoom Docs is available at no additional cost with Zoom Workplace paid licenses, and AI Companion supports users every step of the way, Hashim said.
Zoom Docs is designed to create meeting summaries and facilitate collaborative editing. AI Companion offers various options such as lengthening or shortening text, and can also be used to tailor the tone of the document to a specific audience. There is also the possibility to create meetings through Zoom Docs.
Zoom Docs is also capable of catching grammatical errors and instantly translating text into nine different languages. However, AI Companion’s capabilities may be regionally restricted.
