December looks set to be a bittersweet month for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Sony has updated the “Last Chance to Play” section and added new titles to the PS Plus games list. A total of 12 games will be removed from the library as of December 16th. While it’s rumored that titles like GTA 6 could reach $100, these departures are upsetting players even as the value of subscription services increases.
Games Leaving PS Plus Include Major Titles
The games leaving the Extra and Premium tiers of the subscription service include some very popular titles. The list includes heavyweights like GTA 3 The Definitive Edition, Battlefield 2042, Sonic Frontiers, and Forspoken. The list originally consisted of nine games, but the latest update has increased the number to 12.

Here’s the full list of games that will be leaving the service on December 16th:
- Battlefield 2042 (PS4, PS5)
- Grand Theft Auto 3 – The Definitive Edition (PS4, PS5)
- Sonic Frontiers (PS4, PS5)
- Forspoken (PS5)
- Arcade Paradise VR (PSVR2)
- Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge (PSVR2)
- Firefighting Simulator: The Squad (PS4, PS5)
- Surviving Mars (PS4)
- Star Trek: Bridge Crew (PS4, PSVR)
- Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet (PS4)
- River City Melee Mach!! (PS4)
- 11-11 Memories Retold (PS4)
Fortunately, Sony is being generous in December 2025 to make up for these losses. Essential subscribers typically receive three games, but this month they’ve received five new games. Killing Floor 3, LEGO Horizon Adventures, Neon White, Synduality: Echo of Ada, and The Outlast Trials will be available to add to the library until January 6th.
Furthermore, as of December 2nd, the legendary Red Dead Redemption has been added to the Extra and Premium library. Rockstar Games’ classic has been updated with a local version for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. This masterpiece, which comes with graphical improvements, will unfortunately not be permanent. Therefore, subscribers should act quickly.
