Electric cars continue to improve daily. Charging time and range are among the most frequently asked questions by users considering purchasing an electric vehicle. The Lucid Air Grand Touring, developed by Lucid Motors, has broken the record for the longest distance traveled on a single charge, setting a new Guinness World Record. Here are the details.
World Record with the Lucid Air Grand Touring
Lucid Motors used the Lucid Air Grand Touring model to set a new record. The vehicle covered 1,205 kilometers on a single charge, from St. Moritz, Switzerland, to Munich, Germany, using mountain roads, highways, and secondary roads. It broke the previous record of 1,045 kilometers, set in June 2025, by 160 kilometers.

Lucid and London-based entrepreneur Ümit Sabancı were also involved in breaking this record. This is the second Guinness World Record achieved by the duo. The Air Grand Touring’s specifications indicate that the 831 PS vehicle has a WLTP range of 960 kilometers. Consuming only 13.5 kWh per 100 kilometers, the vehicle can reach a top speed of 270 kilometers per hour.
Thanks to ultra-fast charging, the Lucid Air Grand Touring can reach a range of 400 kilometers in 16 minutes. Sabancı stated that this new record builds on previous successes, saying, “When I completed the nine-country journey in 2024, it was just the beginning.” He concluded by saying, “This new record demonstrates how far electric cars can truly go. This isn’t just the future; it’s already happening.”
Lucid Senior Vice President and Chief Engineer Eric Bach stated that Lucid has proven its leadership in the electric vehicle sector, stating that its vehicles can travel longer distances while consuming less energy.
