NVIDIA is making Las Vegas’ iconic Sphere building one of a kind using 150 RTX A6000 GPUs.NVIDIA will use 1.2 million programmable LEDs. The Sphere is one of the main attractions in Las Vegas, covering about 750,000 square meters. In collaboration with NVIDIA, this special structure will be able to project unique effects.
NVIDIA will transform Sphere using 150 RTX A6000 GPUs
NVIDIA is powering the Vegas Sphere building with the RTX GPU using custom LEDs. Each of the LEDs has more than 10K cores, 48 GB of memory and a TDP of 300W. This translates to 1,612,800 cores, 7200 GB of GDDR6 memory and 45,000W of power consumption, assuming all these GPUs are running at maximum power. Sphere will thus dazzle audiences with eye-catching LED screens across 750,000 square meters.
“Sphere will deliver immersive LED content at a scale and clarity that has never been done before, captivating audiences on social media worldwide as well as in Las Vegas,” said Alex Luthwaite, senior vice president of show systems technology at Sphere Entertainment. This would not be possible without the expertise and innovation of companies like NVIDIA. They will work closely with our team to help us power our vision, enabling us to deliver cutting-edge display technology.”
The Sphere is one of the most popular venues in the world. This massive building continues to host concerts and corporate events every year. It will certainly be an interesting experience to see NVIDIA RTX GPU cards being used in these unusual ways? So, what do you think about this? Let us know what you think in the comments.
