Porsche is preparing to make another ambitious entry into the electric sports car sector. The brand’s first electric sports car will appear with the 718 Boxster and Cayman models before the iconic 911 series. Finally, prototype images of the Cayman model planned for the 2027 model year have emerged. Details in our news…
The all-electric 2027 Porsche 718 Cayman prototype was filmed during testing
When we look at the prototype images, we see that Porsche uses the 911’s side window design to camouflage the Cayman model. However, other design details are very similar to the electric Boxster. The new design is similar to the Mission R concept vehicle introduced at the 2021 Munich Motor Show. In fact, the 718 Cayman GT4 ePerformance prototype also plays an important role in testing these technologies.

On the other hand, the Porsche Cayman will feature a unique battery layout. The T-shaped battery system will be positioned behind the central tunnel and seats. This design will lower the vehicle’s centre of gravity for better stability and handling.
The Cayman model is planned to be offered in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. For reference, the Mission R concept car produces 670 horsepower in ‘race mode’ with its twin-engine system, while this power can increase up to 1073 horsepower in short-term ‘qualifying mode’. The vehicle, which has a single-speed gearbox, can reach a speed of 299 kilometres per hour depending on the gear ratio selected.

In short, Porsche, which we think will make a solid entry into the electric sports car market, will excite car lovers a lot. What do you think about this subject? You can write your opinions in the comments section below…
