3D video recording: Canon F4 STM DUAL is now available for sale!
Canon, one of the most powerful names in the photography world, introduced several impressive products at the WWDC event held last June. One of these, the RF-S7.8mm F4 STM DUAL camera lens, is now available for pre-order.
Canon RF-S7.8mm F4 STM DUAL camera lens is priced at $449.99
Designed in collaboration with Apple, the RF-S7.8mm F4 STM DUAL lens was unveiled in June with remarkable features. Its most notable aspect is its compatibility with mixed reality headsets, specifically designed for the Canon EOS R7.
The lens enables 3D video recording for playback on AR/VR headsets such as Apple’s Vision Pro and Meta’s Quest 3. It features an advanced autofocus system that provides fast and accurate focusing even in challenging lighting conditions. Canon aims to make spatial video recording more accessible with this lens.
Canon EOS C400 Cinema Camera Announced
It offers conveniences specifically for Apple users. Canon has stated that after recording spatial videos with the RF-S7.8mm F4 STM DUAL on the EOS R7, users can edit the videos in Final Cut Pro on a Mac and upload them to Vimeo.
The new Canon lens is priced at $449.99 and will begin distribution in mid-November. Additionally, spatial video recording can be done on iPhone 15 Pro models and all iPhone 16 models without the need for extra hardware.
