Nintendo Switch 2 Looks Set to Be a Haven for Assassin’s Creed in 2025
Ubisoft appears to have aggressive plans for the Nintendo Switch 2, which is expected to launch in the first half of 2025. Currently, Ubisoft is working on three different Assassin’s Creed games simultaneously and will first release Assassin’s Creed Shadows on November 12, 2024. The company is also developing several ports for the Switch 2.
According to sources close to Ubisoft, the company plans to release Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins on Switch 2 simultaneously. If the rumors are accurate, Odyssey and Origins will be sold as a single package. Additionally, the ongoing development of Shadows is expected to coincide with the console’s release date.
The same sources indicate that Ubisoft is also beginning development of its less popular pirate game, Skull and Bones, for the Switch 2. It seems Ubisoft is viewing the new Nintendo console as a lifeline, leveraging the Assassin’s Creed series to boost its presence.
