According to the latest leaks, Sony has accelerated its efforts for a much more powerful PlayStation 5. A technical document shared on YouTube has revealed new details about the advanced specifications of the PlayStation 5 Pro console. According to this, it will offer up to 45 percent faster image processing.
Ray-tracing could be 4 times better with PlayStation 5 Pro
According to the leaked document, Sony is developing the PS5 Pro to include a more powerful GPU and faster memory. This will allegedly result in a 45 percent increase in game rendering speed compared to the PS5. Ray-tracing performance will be up to 3-4 times better.
This will be possible with the more advanced ray-tracing architecture in PS5 Pro. For those who don’t know, this feature simulates the physical behavior of light in games, resulting in more realistic lighting, shadows and reflections. The improved support could allow developers to implement more complex ray-tracing effects.
In addition, the PS5 Pro is rumored to feature a new “Spectral Super Resolution” upscaling solution. This will work in a similar way to NVIDIA DLSS or AMD FSR. It will use AI and deep learning techniques to improve image quality.
Leaked specs revealed that the PS5 Pro will be able to support resolutions as high as 8K thanks to the deep learning chip. Sony will replace standard anti-aliasing with an AI-powered model for sharper graphics.
The PS5 Pro’s rumored ray-tracing and resolution boost could provide a noticeable boost for the next generation of PlayStation games. The new console is expected in the second half of this year.
