Samsung introduced GDDR6 DRAM technology, which can offer high bandwidth up to 24 Gbps. This technology, which comes from the 10 nm process, draws attention with its high memory speed. It is also quite ambitious in terms of performance.
Samsung GDDR6 DRAM technology reaches 1.1TB data transfer speed!
Samsung has announced that it has succeeded in producing the industry’s first 16 Gigabit GDDR6 DRAM technology. It also has a 24 Gbps processing speed. According to the statement, GDDR6 DRAMs made using EUV (Extreme ultraviolet) technology are built on the third generation 10nm.
This new technology gives a 30 percent higher speed than its 18 Gbps predecessors. Thanks to this increase, Samsung reached a data transfer rate of 1.1 TB. Also shipped for use in NVIDIA’s RTX 4000 series.
Of course, it does not stand out only with its performance. Also, power consumption has dropped drastically. Thanks to the new HKMG material, current leakage is prevented. In this way, it works at least 20 percent more efficiently.
NVIDIA will introduce a new line of graphics cards in the coming months. The RTX 4090, RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 will undoubtedly come one after the other. We will be able to take a closer look at Samsung’s new GDDR6 technology on these graphics cards.
