Although Netflix is one of the best and oldest streaming services, its latest announcements are getting annoying for many people. The company announces a lot of changes in terms of accounts, content, and subscription plans. Now, Netflix may demand “Fingerprints” to prevent password sharing. Here are the details about Netflix’s Fingerprints demand.
New changes from Netflix to stop password sharing
The streaming service has been improving new features and preparing to release these features for a few months. Netflix has already announced the “Add a home” feature to prevent password sharing. With this feature, you have to add a home or buy an extra home to use an account with your family or friends. According to the latest rumors, the company could demand “Fingerprints” to stop password sharing.
While there are not any official announcements for this claim, Netflix’s latest changes on the password-sharing issue and some rumors by reliable sources bring it up. Ben Wood, the chief analyst at CCS Insight, said, “There’s only so much you can do with passwords, We may see one of the big streaming providers saying ‘we want some biometric proof that you’re there’.”
The chief analyst also added, “I’m not saying you’re going to have a fingerprint sensor on your TV, but it could well be that if you want to watch something on a mobile phone, or even if you’re sitting at home, you will get pinged… ‘I want your fingerprint or I want a faceprint to prove that it’s you’.”
With these features, Netflix aims to stop password sharing and make more money. However, subscribers are not satisfied with these changes. Most people use a family subscription plan to pay less money and have access to more functions. What do you think about Netflix’s Fingerprints demand? Do you Netflix will demand?
