Elon Musk made new announcements on Twitter. The character limit on Twitter is increasing and some other innovations are coming. Elon Musk has made a lot of changes since he bought Twitter. Some of them have been liked and some have been criticized. The last change that is being planned for the platform is to increase the character limit.
New Twitter character limit will be 4000 characters
Elon Musk announced last month that the character limit on the platform would increase from 280 to 4000 with his “yes” answer to a question from Twitter. There is still no detailed information on this issue, but Musk has wanted this for a long time. In this way, the company CEO does not want to use screenshots taken from the notes application on phones for long text posts.
What brought this issue to the agenda again today was a new announcement. Musk announced that long Tweets, which he had previously promised on Twitter, will be available at the beginning of February. According to Musk, a new navigation infrastructure is also coming to the platform at the end of next week.
This new structure will reportedly allow users to switch between “most popular Tweets” and “most recent Tweets” with a side swipe. Currently, this requires pressing the star icon in the top right corner and selecting from there. Musk also said that this new side-scrolling navigation system will allow quick navigation to topics and trending content pages.
Elon Musk, who also signaled that he will make other changes to Twitter’s interface with the above statement, also seems to add a “bookmark” button to the Tweet details. Musk, who has made significant changes to the platform since he acquired it, brings all of these to the table to attract more users to Twitter. What are your thoughts on these changes?
