Google, well-known for its Pixel models in the world of smartphones, is preparing to introduce the Pixel 8 series towards the end of this year. The company uses its own processors in its devices. New details have emerged about the anticipated Tensor G3 that will be used in the upcoming series.
Tensor G3 will utilize the Arm Mali-G715 CPU!
Kamila Wojciechowska has obtained detailed information about Tensor G3, which is expected to power Pixel 8 and 8 Pro later this year. According to the shared information from the source, the processor will offer nine CPU cores (4+4+1), consisting of Cortex-A510 cores and four Cortex-A715 cores, with a high-performance Cortex-X3 core running at 3.0 GHz.
Furthermore, the processor will introduce an upgrade that many developers have been eagerly awaiting. Tensor G2 phones had 32-bit libraries, but the new processor from Google will allow for 64-bit applications. Tensor G3 will feature an upgraded version of the seven-core Mali-G710 graphics unit. The processor will utilize the Arm Mali-G715 CPU.
A notable feature of Tensor G3 is the AV1 encoder. BigWave provides AV1 video decoding up to 4K60. Additionally, the processor will be based on the Samsung Exynos 2300 design, which has not been unveiled yet, and will benefit from the 3nm process node.
