Users with tattoos on their wrists have reported some problems using the Samsung Galaxy Watch. Tattoo ink prevents the smartwatch from using optical sensors to capture biometric data. However, Samsung has reported that it will resolve this issue for people with tattoos.
What is the problem with Samsung Galaxy Watch on tattooed wrists?
Following complaints on the Samsung forum, the company issued a statement. Samsung has revealed that it is working to resolve the tattooing issue with the Galaxy Watches. A moderator responsible for the Galaxy Wear application explained that the sensors have developed a feature that will also identify the tattoo on the wrist.
No release date has been announced for the update to the Samsung Wear application. However, it is expected that One UI 5 will be offered to users with Watch. This interface, which is currently in beta testing, could be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event at the end of July. The Galaxy Watch 6 series is also expected at the launch.
The fact that the sensors cannot see the wrist because of the tattoo has actually been seen in many smartwatch models. Smartwatches that use optical sensors for biometric monitoring cannot come into contact with the skin because of tattoo ink.
In order to accurately track health and fitness data, the sensors need to sit exactly on the wrist. However, this problem has disappointed many users.
